PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
When is this important?
High defect rates / quality issues
Variable or unreliable delivery times
High-delivery costs and inefficiency
Bottlenecks / constraints in your processes causing delays
Why is it important?
For a business to consistently deliver high-quality goods or services to their customers at a reasonable price and in a consistent time frame, it is critical that routine processes are optimised, standardised and continuously improved.
Our Approach
We engage the people within the business at the frontline who are responsible for executing the processes and involve them in defining and implementing best practice standards that are sustainable and impactful. We have extensive experience in process improvement across a broad range of sectors and businesses from small to medium in size up to large multinational corporations.
Kaizen Improvement Events is the primary method we use to optimise processes given their focused, short and high-impact nature.
ADAPTIVE STRATEGY
When is this important?
The current strategy is no longer relevant
Staff don’t understand and/or believe in the strategy at all levels
It’s unclear how well the business is achieving its strategy
The strategy isn’t actively informing focused, cohesive action
Why is it important?
A strategy establishes a pathway between where a business is and where it wants to be (the vision). It is about how a business will move forward. For a strategy to be effective, everyone in the business must be aligned in their understanding and contribution to the strategy. A business must also be able to proactively adapt its strategy to changing circumstances or risk becoming irrelevant.
Our Approach
Through our experience in both traditional top-down linear strategy deployment and adaptive program delivery, we have established an approach to strategy that is robust yet practical and dynamic in today’s changing environment. We don’t just develop pretty, comprehensive documents and PowerPoint presentations containing rigorous plans that look and sound great in theory. Instead, we focus on helping businesses to define, live and breathe their strategy at every level, and importantly, to know how and when to change it. Unless strategy is driving decision making and action in day to day operations its true value and purpose isn’t being realised.
ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP
When is this important?
Adaptive leadership capability has always been important. In these unprecedented times, it is critical. However, there are a few key signals that suggest more focused action should be taken:
What has always been done is no longer working
Leaders are reacting without clear direction
Staff are feeling disengaged from the business
Why is it important?
In today's business climate, adaptive leadership will be pivotal in determining organisational survival. These are not normal times and more than ever leaders can’t rely on what they know and have always done to guide their business to safety. Einstein helped us to understand that doing the same things and expecting different results is insanity. The impacts of COVID-19 will create a new normal. Things will never return to normal as we know it. Now more than ever, adaptive leadership is critical for leaders to embrace so that they see opportunities where others can’t and create possibilities beyond what is currently known.
Our Approach
We care about people and creating value for others. We thrive in applying our unique talents to challenge an organisation's thinking beyond what is known and to guide them in identifying and acting on new opportunities. We are also independent and impartial with “fresh eyes”. We are not bound within an organisation's cultural behavioural norms or assumptions, which allows us to see and call things for what they are.
ADAPTIVE DELIVERY
When is this important?
Customers don’t value solutions
Slow, inefficient delivery
Too much to do and not enough people
Lack of transparency
Poor communication
Why is it important?
Customers are expecting businesses to deliver exceptionally high-quality products and services at competitive prices, faster than ever before. They are less tolerant of delays, defects and poor service, and can change providers with greater ease. If a business is not equipped to respond with equal or greater speed and effectiveness to their customers' changing needs, it is at high-risk of either losing or never achieving a competitive advantage.
Our Approach
We are not purists or one-trick ponies, in the sense that we do not follow or endorse a single method for delivering customer value. We begin with strong delivery principles (i.e. what we are trying to achieve and why) and tailor an approach to suit the business we are working with. We couple theory with practical experience, and work collaboratively with a business to build its delivery capability by applying it to real examples in their workplace and learning from them.
PROBLEM SOLVING
When is this important?
Effective problem-solving is critical at all stages of a business’ journey. However, there are a few key signals that suggest more focused action should be taken:
The same problems continue to surface, despite past efforts to address them
Limited capacity or capability are preventing problems from being solved
Band-aid fixes are compiling and beginning to create more harm than good
Why is it important?
Applying a structured and proven problem-solving approach helps to ensure that a business maximises its return on investment and the likelihood of preventing problems from occurring again. Not all problems can be solved with a discussion and/or by applying experience, especially complex ones.
Our Approach
Our approach to problem-solving can be applied to any context and type of problem. We work with businesses to leverage their rich experience and knowledge of their context and the problem at hand, as they know it far better than we ever could. We then collaboratively facilitate the end to end problem-solving journey towards a viable solution and provide awareness and experience in an approach that can then be used to address other problems in the future. Our firm belief is that robust problem-solving capability should be developed within a business.
