Kaizen Improvement Event

Event Overview

A Kaizen Improvement Event is a short, sharp improvement process that focuses on a particular area for improvement. The events are usually 3-5 days long and are often followed by a pilot period to test and refine the solution/s in a live (real) operating environment. A team of representatives from the area of improvement and other key support areas are co-located for the duration of the event, which is facilitated by an experienced improvement coach. Kaizen Improvement Events provide immediate and actionable outcomes that have been developed by the people who do the work. They are also an effective means of fostering a culture of continuous improvement within an organisation and developing practical improvement capability.

Typical outcomes of a Kaizen Improvement Event may include an increase in:

  • Customer satisfaction

  • Staff satisfaction / morale

  • Safety

  • Operating efficiency through the reduction of wasteful activity,

  • Cost efficiency

  • Revenue generation

  • Productivity

  • Product quality
